The BARKMATE Spray is a safe, humane and effective way to stop dog barking when it occurs by delivering a short spray of harmless citronella gas towards the dog's lower jaw.
The BARKMATE Spray works extremely well, because it plays to four of your dog's five senses; they can see the spray, they can hear the spray, they can feel the spray and they can smell the spray. Because the anti bark collar affects so many senses, your dog is much more likely to remember the correction the next time, thus avoiding lengthy barking spells.
The BARKMATE Spray does not use shocks or loud beeps, so it does not create any pain or anxiety for the dog. Within a short period of training, the dog begins to associate the citronella spray correction with their bad barking habits and each session will even further reduce your dog's desire to bark.
The smell of the citronella spray from the BARKMATE Spray is not necessarily meant to be offensive to your dog, as all dogs are different. But it is not a scent that they encounter on a regular basis, so the training can be isolated and a mental association embedded in your dog's mind for that scent.
